Lamb to the Slaughter

Dear Diary,

The frustrations and feelings I had experienced today were indescribable. I could not believe the fact that I have killed my husband with a frozen lamb leg. I was simply too shocked and furious at that moment and did not think about the consequences of my own actions.

After the police left, for some reasons, I felt relieved. They had actually eaten up the evidence against me. For that, I would not need to go to jail. Although I would not be prosecuted, I feel devastated that my husband had passed away. I really loved him. How I wished that all these did not happen and that he had not mentioned the word 'divorce'. At that moment, it broke my heart. Now, I pity my child as he would be born without a father.

Love,
Mary Maloney

More about blogging

In the recent few lessons, our teacher has been talking about blogging. We discussed the similarities and difference between journaling and blogging. The similarity is that both can be used to record down the events that had happened. Another similarity is that both can help to improve our essay-writings as we would be practising while writing a diary entry. The difference is that a journal is private whereas a blog allows everyone to view and even comment on it. We can upload a video on a blog but we cannot do so for a journal.

We also went through an article about a blogger being arrested for posting allegedly racist comments on his blog. Why do you think he would do so? Firstly, the blog was intended for his close friends to view. Next, he came from a school that was not very culturally diverse and he is a expressive person whereby his style of writing is over the top. Lastly, he was in a particularly bad mood that day. I think the strongest reason is that the school he came from was not very culturally diverse school. As he came from a not very culturally diverse school, he seldom interact with people from other races so he do not understand them thus there might be racial discrimination and he would look down on other races. The weakest reason is that he was in a particularly bad mood that day. Even if he is angry, he should not put these comments in blog to vent the anger.

Our whole class discussed and came out with some rules
1. No racist/defamatory/hurtful remarks 2. No vulgarities/profanity/foul language 3. Do not give out personal information 4. No plagiarism 5. No spamming 6. No hacking other blogs 7. No threatening/harassing 8. No adult content
If we broke the rules, this is the consequences
1. Demerit points 2. No recess for a week 3. Clean classroom for a week 4. Banned from commenting on other blogs 5. No ACE points

Multiple Intelligences Test

Our teacher brought us to the computer lab to do the Multiple Intelligences Test. It was interesting and the results were quite accurate. By looking at the results, I know that I am not that smart. I am best in logical and then followed by Intrapersonal. I am poor at visual, musical and linguistic. I cannot visualise images well as I do not have good imagination. I am not good in playing musical instruments but I like listening to music to relieve myself from stress and to relax. My vocabulary is not good as I seldom read books. I read books only during the school holidays. =P If you are interested in taking this test, go to http://is.gd/62Av6 . Have fun !

Plagiarism

On the first few lessons, our teacher talked about plagiarism. Let me tell you more about plagiarism. Plagiarism is stealing of someone else's work and calls the work his own without giving credit to the person or asking for permission. You are required to cite the source of the part you copied. According to the copyright laws, if you have copied more than a certain percentage of information, you would be infringing the copyright laws. Plagiarism is an offence and would be punished if you are caught doing so. After reading my post, I hope that you would have a better understanding on plagiarism.
