IN-CLASS ONLINE LESSON #2
*Re-read Ray Bradbury's story "All Summer in a Day." In your blog, identify who should be held responsible for Margot's treatment, and why.
I would identify her parents, friends, teachers and also the environment in Venus to be held responsible for Margot's treatment. Her friends were more responsible for Margot's treatment.
Margot's parents are partly responsible for her treatment because they brought her from Earth to Venus and there is a great change in environment for Margot and she might not be able to adapt to it.
Her teachers are also responsible for her treatment as they did not try their best to stop her friends from bullying her or take extra care of her.
The environment in Venus are responsible for her treatment as it only stop raining and the sun appears once in seven years while in Earth, the sun is up most of the times so it is hard for her to adapt.
Her friends should be held the greatest responsibility for her treatment. They bullied Margot as they think she was different from them as she was from earth and saw the sun many times. This make her feel sad and lonely. Also, they locked her in the closet, making her unable to see the sun. She had been waiting for so long to see the sun but ended up locked in the closet, unable to see the sun.

Then (in the same entry) imagine yourself as one of the schoolchildren; what might you have chosen to do which would have led to a positive outcome?
If I was one of the schoolchildren, I would not make fun of her just because she is different from the rest as she had saw the sun many times. If I find out that she was being bullied by the rest of the classmates, I would inform the teacher and her parents so they will understand her feelings, take better care of her and make sure her classmates would stop bullying her.
